Bump it or dump it? Ryan Darton - “Sing to Me Baby”

You know the drill. I post a song I’m on the fence about. You tell me if you like and if I should play it on the show.

This time, let’s listen to Ryan Darton.

What’s your song of the summer?

This Sunday night, I’m doing my much-anticipated (in my own mind, at least) Summer Playlist episode of Ozmosis.

Figured we should talk about what songs are brightening yours days this summers. It’s gonna be tough for me to pare down my playlist to fit the show, but here’s something that’s definitely gonna make it.

YOUR TURN: What’s your jam of summer 2012?

Bump it or dump it? Alberta Cross - “Lay Down”

New single from Alberta Cross. What do you think?

Does it deserve a spot on the Ozmosis playlist?

What’s your favorite new album?

What’s YOUR favorite new album? Sunday on Ozmosis (9 p.m., New Rock 104.1, be there!) is another of our new music panels, where we’ll be talking about best new music with Nino from Spinners Records and Johnny Q from Love the Captive

But let’s start the convo early — what’s your favorite new album?

Bump it or dump it? Alt-J’s “Fitzpleasure”

Here’s an interesting track that camp across my desk from UK group Alt-J. It’s a sorta indie rock dubstep — and I’m torn on it. On one hand, I’m not the guy to get into dubstep unless it’s for the novelty. But this song is definitely interesting and different, plus with that Alex Claire song blowing up, maybe there’s a market?

What do you think about this one?

p.s. Anybody think the vocals sound kinda like an Adam Sandler character.

Bump it or dump it? Crocodiles - “Sunday”

There’s a LOT of music that gets sent to me in hopes that I’ll give it a spin on Ozmosis. But ya know, I can only fit so many songs in an hour, so there’s a whole lot of stuff that either (1) doesn’t get played or (2) sits on the fence for a while.

I figure I’ll throw some songs that I’m torn about your way and see what you guys think. Here’s something that landed on my desk this week, from San Diego band Crocodiles.

Like it? Hit “like” or leave a comment or something. If I get some good feedback maybe we’ll hear it on Ozmosis soon.
